Capacity Building of Local Governments on Mainstreaming SDGs in Local Development Planning, Monitoring and Reporting: Following the training of trainers, A plan for capacity building of stakeholders, particularly the local governments, was developed for both Balochistan and Sindh provinces. The plan included imparting the trainings in a total of 15 clusters (9 in Balochistan and 6 in Sindh) to cover 64 districts with the support of LCAs in Balochistan and Sindh. The Government of Balochistan and Sind were approached to issue their notification to local government officials and the District Health Officer, District Education Officer, Deputy Director (LG), Executive Engineer, Public Health Engineering Department, Chief Officer Municipal Committee/Corporation, and Monitoring & Evaluation officers from districts to attend the two days knowledge and capacity building trainings.
The district level trainings started in March 2022 and to date, the trainings are successfully completed in six (6) clusters by covering 43 districts in both provinces. Total of 383 participants including 58 females attended the knowledge and capacity building trainings. Out of 383 participants, 232 were the local government officials (including 20 women) who attended the two days trainings on Mainstreaming SDGs in Local Development Planning, Monitoring and Reporting.
